He said, "No. I came into the office on Saturday morning and found over 7,000 e-mails waiting for me". Spam galore.
My reaction? He should just dump the lot. So he explained why he couldn't. "Enquiries for very high price items just can't be accidentally sent to the bin".
How would I react to that situation I wondered.
But now I know how it feels. Suddenly my daily mail intake shot up from hundreds to thousands. Suddenly I was finding huge chunks of the garbage.
Regularly day after day. It was isolated but had to be checked. High cash value enquiries could not be identified other way.
One of my best pals is the anti spam filter which helps me through each day. I can't rely on ISP's systems. I too have to search for the new customers. Those first time contacts whose e-mail address could not be identified as friendly.
Never mind - Push on - it's all part of life. After all I was using decent software to fight the problem.
